Stretch Cord: The holes on these are large enough to work with stretch cord. If you do a lot of hand knotting, get yourself a bead reamer and some spare diamond bits. Even after that, if I do a gentle tug, there's still some stretch. I usually pre-stretch while it's damp *and* use my next bead to push my knot into place. On Knotting: If this is newer to you, I can't over stress the importance of pre-stretching your silk. I needed to ream 7 beads to enlarge holes and double knot around 3 beads because the holes were really large. You can swipe through the photos and see a necklace I did on a Size 5 cord. I made a necklace with a 6mm strand and used all but one bead.Ĭord Sizing: A size 5 Griffin should go through most beads. That being said, my Bead Snob friends should be advised that there may are inclusions, minor surface pitting and some erratic hole sizes.
